Andrea Gentili is a guitarist and composer from Rome.
He graduated in Jazz Guitar with highest honours from the Licinio Refice Conservatory in Frosinone, following earlier studies in jazz and classical guitar.
His work as a guitarist and composer has developed through recordings, live performances, theatre music and collaborations with musicians from different backgrounds, including Toni Armetta, Francesco Di Giacomo, Alberto Giraldi, Andrea Bassato, Carlos Sarmiento, Sidiki Condè , Melaku Belay, Filiberto Palermini, Ezio Zaccagnini, Badara Seck, Edoardo De Angelis, Fatimah Provillon.
Alongside his work as a performer, composition has gradually become the central part of his musical activity.
His main project is the Andrea Gentili Group, an ensemble devoted to his original music and to Ruha Trilogy Suite.
Completed between 2025 and 2026, Ruha is a ninety-minute instrumental work in three parts — La Figlia del Vento, Passage and Transmutation — bringing together different strands of Gentili’s musical experience within a single extended composition.
Andrea Gentili also works in music education and is co-founder of the Suonare Suonare School of Music in Rome, established in 2008.
